About me and this site

Rather than repeat myself here (the DRY principle!), you can check out my personal home page for more about me.

My algorithms book

Tomes of Delphi Algorithms and Data StructuresA while back, rather longer than I like to admit, I wrote a book on algorithms in Delphi, called Tomes of Delphi: Algorithms and Data Structures.

Although it is no longer available in its original printing – unless you can spot it on eBay – I obtained the copyright back from the original publishers (who are no more), gave it a quick edit and minor update, and republished it. You can now get it in various formats, although I warn you that it is very Delphi-7-centric. (Generics? Wossat when it's at home?)

This site

The blogging part of this website is published by Graffiti CMS, a nice, easy-to-use .NET CMS product that’s now open source (although it’s now well over ten years since any update). I'll admit that I now use a very pared-down modified version, with a lot of the features I never used deleted from the solution, and some simple plug-ins written to enhance the interface. Posts are written in Open Live Writer. The theme is a professional one from ThemeForest – I do not pretend to be a designer – with some extra JavaScript thrown in for good measure.

The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure. I used to use GoDaddy, but got hacked – it seems to be a fairly regular occurrence.

The old static site was maintained with CityDesk Professional 2.0 (now completely dead update-wise, although I've managed to get it to work in Windows 11) from FogCreek, with help from NoteTab Pro from Fookes Software, and TopStyle 3.5.

Can you kindly have list of topics (a separate page) some where, where we can go 1 by 1 on each lessons, instead of scrolling and pages turning.

Thanks for such good write up and happy new year.

It's actually on my list of things to do for the New Year.

Cheers, Julian

I think I might have used some of your Pascal code many moons ago. Thanks.

PS: Commenting on the About page feels lame. But I'm doing it anyway. Cheers.
